Science vs. Self-Creation

Imagine finding a flag on the moon. Common sense tells us it didn’t get there by accident. Everything we see has a cause. Science backs this up – it’s called the Law of Causality. Matter doesn’t spontaneously appear from nothing. This law is as fundamental as gravity.

So, what caused the universe? It couldn’t have made itself. The Big Bang theory, a popular explanation, still leaves the question unanswered: where did the original matter for the Big Bang come from?

Something from nothing” defies science.

Even some leading atheist scientists have grappled with this. Stephen Hawking and Richard Dawkins, in separate instances, acknowledged that getting something from nothing defies reason. It’s simpler to believe the universe always existed, right?

Wrong. The Second Law of Thermodynamics shows things wear down and energy becomes unusable. If the universe were eternal, it would have run out of usable energy long ago. Clearly, the universe had a beginning.

External Cause

Since the universe had a start, and couldn’t create itself, there must be a cause outside and greater than itself. This cause must be:

• Eternal: Existing before the universe did
• Powerful: Capable of creating something so vast
• Immaterial: Non-material to explain the material

The question is: was it blind chance or intelligent design? Could mere matter create the order, complexity, and consciousness we see today? Science points to the latter.

Conclusion

The Law of Causality, combined with undeniable scientific laws, strongly suggest a powerful, conscious, and eternal force behind the existence of the universe. This force, by its very nature, aligns with what many understand as God. While this is not definitive proof, it provides a compelling argument for a Creator and invites us to explore the universe with both curiosity and wonder.
